EVALUATE, RESEARCH, MEASURE
BEFORE ORDERING
Our fine quality
Custom cushions are manufactured to your specifications including: size, thickness, and fabric choice. Our cushions are made to provide years of comfort and we guarantee them with our 3 year warranty.
Cushion thickness is determined by the design of the furniture. Comfort Cushions are 3.5" to 6" thick and used for all types of cast aluminum, wrought iron and outdoor wicker furniture designed for thicker cushions. Resin furniture and many wood dining collections are best with a slimmer comfort cushion (2.5" thick) and the thin pads (1.5" ) are designed to be put over slings and straps to add additional comfort, color and durability.
HOW TO MEASURE CUSHIONS
A.
.
If you have cushions that fit your furniture properly, then you can measure
the cushion using the following steps:
- Lay the cushions flat on the floor.
- Measure the overall length with a tape measure and record the measurement.
- Many cushions are one piece with the seat and back hinged together.
In order for us to make the seat the right dept and the back the right height, we need these measures. Make sure you know which part of the cushion is the seat and the back.
Hinged Cushions:
- Find the seat depth by measuring from the front of the cushion to the hinge. Record seat depth.
- Measure the back starting from the top of the back to the hinge point. Record seat height.
All other cushions: measure depth, width and thickness
- Measure the width of the cushion at the widest point.
- Measure thickness. Please note that older cushions made with fiber filler will
have flattened over time and use. Most chairs and chaises that require cushions
have approximately a 4" thickness for proper comfort.
- Double check your measurements as custom cushions made to order cannot be returned.
- If you have questions, send us a email or fax. If you have unique cushions with a lot of size variation in the width, and or insets, you will need to provide us with a cushion or a pattern to obtain a price.
B.
If you do not have the original cushions, then you will need to measure the frame.
- Measure from the front rail (bar or tube) of the seat to the back of the seat. Most
cushions will extend a little over the front rail, therefore add approximately
1 inch to the measurement. Record the measure as seat depth.
- Measure from the top of the back to where the seat begins. Often there
is not a defined location of where the back ends and the seat begins because
the frame has a curve in the frame. If that is the case, measure to the middle
of the curve. Add approximately 1.5" to this measurement as most cushions extend
above the top rail. This is especially important if the seat supports are made
of vinyl strap that stretch. Record the measurement as back height. If you are
measuring for wood furniture, you may not want the cushion to extend beyond
the frame.
- Measure between the arms to obtain seat width. Record measurement.
- For thickness, most chairs that require cushions have approximately
4" thickness. If you can seat comfortably in a chair without cushions, then
a 4" cushion will be too thick. Another determination is that if the cushion
is supported by vinyl straps that are over 1 inch apart, then it is a good possibility that you need the thicker cushion.
- Double check your measurements as cushions are made to your specifications and are not returnable.
- IMPORTANT when measuring a 2 piece cushion: Most back cushions rest on the seat cushion, therefore you MUST make an allowance for the thickness of the seat
- If you have questions, send us a fax or email. We have been making cushions for over 20 years.

CUSHION CARE AND CLEANING

becoming deeply embedded in the fabric and eliminate the need for more frequent
vigorous cleanings. In most environments, a thorough cleaning will be needed
every two to three years.
- Brush off loose
dirt
- Hose down
- Prepare a cleaning
mixture of water and mild, natural soap (no detergents)
- Use a soft
bristle brush to clean
- Allow soap
to soak in
- Rinse thoroughly
- Air dry
If stubborn stains
persist, you can use a diluted chlorine bleach/soap mixture for spot cleaning.
